New Tampa, with its master planned communities features newer homes and is considered by many to be one of Tampa's premier communities. Within New Tampa there are many communities from which to choose. Many communities in New Tampa offer country club living at its finest. Clubhouses, pools, tennis courts, Fitness centers, and in some cases coffee shops or restaurants are typical amenities included, as well as lush landscaping in the common areas. Gated communities and villages are common in New Tampa too, as are many homes that are located on conservation lots. (No backyard neighbors, other than wildlife.)
It is generallly recognized that New Tampa runs the length of Bruce B. Downs, beginning at Bearss and going North to County Line Road. Many people consider New Tampa to continue North of County Line Road up to S.R. 54.
Once you pass County Line Road however, you are in Pasco County and of course no longer within the city of Tampa! New Tampa homes are a short drive to the University of South Florida, and University Community Hospital and New Tampa offers a couple points of access to Interstate 75.
